ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE@#To derive the Chinese medicine (CM) syndrome classification and subgroup syndrome characteristics of ischemic stroke patients.@*METHODS@#By extracting the CM clinical electronic medical records (EMRs) of 7,170 hospitalized patients with ischemic stroke from 2016 to 2018 at Weifang Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Shandong Province, China, a patient similarity network (PSN) was constructed based on the symptomatic phenotype of the patients. Thereafter the efficient community detection method BGLL was used to identify subgroups of patients. Finally, subgroups with a large number of cases were selected to analyze the specific manifestations of clinical symptoms and CM syndromes in each subgroup.@*RESULTS@#Seven main subgroups of patients with specific symptom characteristics were identified, including M3, M2, M1, M5, M0, M29 and M4. M3 and M0 subgroups had prominent posterior circulatory symptoms, while M3 was associated with autonomic disorders, and M4 manifested as anxiety; M2 and M4 had motor and motor coordination disorders; M1 had sensory disorders; M5 had more obvious lung infections; M29 had a disorder of consciousness. The specificity of CM syndromes of each subgroup was as follows. M3, M2, M1, M0, M29 and M4 all had the same syndrome as wind phlegm pattern; M3 and M0 both showed hyperactivity of Gan (Liver) yang pattern; M2 and M29 had similar syndromes, which corresponded to intertwined phlegm and blood stasis pattern and phlegm-stasis obstructing meridians pattern, respectively. The manifestations of CM syndromes often appeared in a combination of 2 or more syndrome elements. The most common combination of these 7 subgroups was wind-phlegm. The 7 subgroups of CM syndrome elements were specifically manifested as pathogenic wind, pathogenic phlegm, and deficiency pathogens.@*CONCLUSIONS@#There were 7 main symptom similarity-based subgroups in ischemic stroke patients, and their specific characteristics were obvious. The main syndromes were wind phlegm pattern and hyperactivity of Gan yang pattern.

ABSTRACT

Objective:Under the background of "new medical science", to construct a whole-process education path with "education as the driving force - moral cultivation as the core", and to provide a decision-making basis for the reform, innovation, and development of humanistic quality education in medical colleges.Methods:Five-year clinical medical students (freshman to fifth graders) from Qiqihar Medical University were selected as the research objects. The evaluation model and questionnaire of humanistic quality of clinical medical students were constructed by literature analysis. The Questionnaire Star platform was used to investigate and collect data by random sampling of clinical medical undergraduates, and the data results were analyzed by SPSS 26.0 to explore the path of building the whole-process education. Results:The empirical research on the cultivation of humanistic quality of medical students showed that the average humanistic attitude score of medical students was (3.47±0.75) points. From the perspective of gender, the scores of humanistic cognition, attitude, and behavior of male students were 2.81, 3.68, and 3.22 points, respectively, which were all significantly higher than those of female students (2.52, 3.22, and 2.95 points, respectively) ( P<0.05). The data from freshmen to the fifth graders showed that humanistic cognition, attitude, and behavior scores all presented an increasing trend with the grade. Using the "Knowledge, Attitude/Belief, Practice" model, it was found that the cognitive rate of humanistic quality of medical students was relatively ideal, and the awareness rate of medical students in different grades was different. The cross analysis showed that the effect of ideological morality and political literacy education on medical students in medical colleges had a significant cross-relationship with multiple choice questions. Conclusion:The humanistic quality of clinical medical students needs to be improved, and the cultivation of medical humanistic quality should run through the whole process from the first year to the fifth year, so as to improve the comprehensive training of professional ability and promote the all-round development of medical students.

ABSTRACT

Objective To perform an epidemiological investigation on a case with visceral leishmaniasis in Zhengzhou City, Henan Province, and to identify the source of infection, so as to illustrate the transmission chain and assess the risk of local leishmaniasis transmission. Methods The medical data were collected from a case with visceral leishmaniasis in Zhengzhou City, and the patient’s bone marrow smears were detected by microscopy. Serum anti-Leishmania antibody test and PCR assay were performed among high-risk residents and all dogs in the village where the patient lived. Sandflies were captured using light traps and artificial traps, and the captured female Phlebotomus chinensis was subjected to PCR assay. The internal transcribed spacer 1 (ITS1) gene was amplified with a nested PCR assay using the genomic DNA extracted from visceral leishmaniasis patients, positive dogs and sandflies, and the sequences were aligned with those download from NCBI. In addition, a phylogenetic tree was created based on the ITS1 gene. Results The visceral leishmaniasis patient had recurrent irregular fever, reduced complete blood counts, low hemoglobin, and a large number of Leishmania amastigotes in bone marrow smears, and was therefore diagnosed as visceral leishmaniasis. Both rk39 rapid diagnostic test and PCR assay tested negative among 324 residents living neighboring the patient’s residence, while 21.39% (43/201) dogs were positive for rk39 rapid diagnostic test and 13.93% (28/201) positive for PCR assay. There were 17 female Ph. chinensis tested positive for Leishmania (0.82%) by PCR assay, and the ITS gene sequences from visceral leishmaniasis patients, positive dogs and sandflies shared a 100% homology with L. infantum. The Leishmania species was therefore characterized as L. infantum. Conclusions L. infantum infection occurs in visceral leishmaniasis patients, dogs and sandflies in Zhengzhou City, indicating a complete transmission chain and a high transmission risk of visceral leishmaniasis by L. infantum. Intensified control measures are required to prevent local transmission of leishmaniasis in Zhengzhou City.

ABSTRACT

With the acceleration of the aging process of our country's population, the impact of aging-related diseases - Alzheimer's disease (AD) on society and families has become increasingly prominent. AD is caused by multiple mechanisms, and the pathogenesis has not been fully elucidated. Most of the clinical treatments are single therapy, which mainly focuses on improving symptoms and are difficult to reverse the disease process. Therefore, the development of drugs that can both improve symptoms and reverse the disease process is extremely urgent in clinical. Increasing number of studies has shown that traditional Chinese medicine plays an important role in the prevention and treatment of AD. The natural products have many advantages, such as novel structures, multiple targets and diverse activities, which can be used as an important source of leading compounds for the treatment of AD. The review summarizes the main clinical treatment methods and the research progress of natural ingredients in traditional Chinese medicine, and provides a reference for the follow-up clinical treatment of AD combined with the advantages of traditional Chinese medicine treatment.

ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluate the diagnostic efficiency of four anti-cysticercus IgG, IgG4 or IgM antibody test kits (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, ELISA) by different manufacturers, so as to provide insights into the epidemiological investigation and clinical detection of cysticercosis. Methods Forty serum samples from cerebral cysticercosis patients, 100 serum samples from healthy volunteers, 30 serum samples from paragonimiasis skrjabini patients, 17 serum samples from cystic echinococcosis and 19 serum samples from subcutaneous or cerebral sparganosis patients were collected and detected using anti-cysticercus IgG, IgG4 or IgM antibody test kits (brand A) and the anti-cysticercus IgG antibody test kit (brand B). The sensitivity, specificity and false negative rate of the four kits for detection of cysticercosis were estimated. Results The anti-cysticercus IgG, IgG4 or IgM antibody test kits (brand A) showed 95.00% (38/40), 87.50% (35/40), 7.50% (3/40) sensitivities and 98.00% (98/100), 100.00% (100/100) and 100.00% (100/100) for detection of cysticercosis, while the anti-cysticercus IgG antibody test kit (brand B) presented a 75.00% (30/40) sensitivity and 100.00% (100/100) specificity for detection of cysticercosis. The sensitivity for detection of cysticercosis was significantly higher by the anti-cysticercus IgG antibody test kit (brand A) than by the anti-cysticercus IgG antibody test kit (brand B) (χ2 = 6.28, P < 0.05); however, no significant difference was seen in the specificity by two kits (χ2 = 2.01, P > 0.05). The four ELISA kits showed overall false positive rates of 37.88% (25/66), 22.73% (15/66), 62.12% (41/66) and 15.15% (10/66) for detection of paragonimiasis, echinococcosis and sparganosis (χ2 = 37.61, P < 0.05), and the anti-cysticercus IgG antibody test kit (brand A) presented the highest overall false positive rate for detection of paragonimiasis, echinococcosis and sparganosis (χ2 = 7.56, P’ < 0.008), while a higher overall false positive rate was seen for detection of paragonimiasis, echinococcosis and sparganosis by the anti-cysticercus IgG antibody test kit (brand A) than by the anti-cysticercus IgG antibody test kit (brand B) (χ2 = 8.75, P’ < 0.008). The four ELISA kits showed false positive rates of 40.00% (12/30), 16.67% (5/30), 76.67% (23/30) and 13.33% (4/30) for detection of paragonimiasis (χ2 = 32.88, P < 0.05) and 21.05% (4/19), 26.32% (5/19), 73.68% (14/19) and 15.79% (3/19) for detection of sparganosis (χ2 = 19.97, P < 0.05), and the highest false positive rates were found by the anti-cysticercus IgM antibody test kit (brand A) for detection of paragonimiasis and sparganosis (all P’ < 0.008). However, the four ELISA kits showed comparable false positive rates of 52.94% (9/17), 29.41% (5/17), 23.53% (4/17) and 17.65% (3/17) for detection of echinococcosis (χ2 = 8.24, P > 0.05). In addition, the anti-cysticercus IgM anti-body test kit (brand A) showed false positive rates of 76.67% (23/30), 23.53% (4/17) and 73.68% (14/19) for detection of paragonimiasis, echinococcosis and sparganosis (χ2 = 14.537, P < 0.05), with the lowest false positive rate seen for detection of echinococcosis (χ2 = 14.537, P’ < 0.014), while no significant differences were seen in the false positive rate for detection of paragonimiasis, echinococcosis and sparganosis by other three ELISA kits (all P > 0.05). Conclusions The four anti-cysticercus IgG, IgG4 or IgM antibody test kits exhibit various efficiencies for serodiagnosis of cysticercosis. The anti-cysticercus IgG antibody test kit (brand A) has a high sensitivity for serodiagnosis of cysticercosis; however, it still needs to solve the problems of cross-reaction with other parasitic diseases and stability.

ABSTRACT

Surface treatment was conducted to reduce dissolution of Mg mesh and to improve bioactivity in physiological environment. Mg mesh was immersed in 40 wt% hydrofluoric (HF) solution for 2 hours to form a protective coating layer. Then, hydrothermal treatment was performed in a mixed solution of Ca(NO3)2·4H2O and Na2HPO 4 at 90 ℃ for 30 minutes, and cyclic precalcification treatment was conducted by soaking in each 0.06 M NH 4H 2PO4 solution and 0.011 M Ca(OH)2 solution in turn at 90 ℃. Immersion test was performed in simulated body fluid (SBF) to investigate solubility and bioactivity. Release characteristics were investigated after loading ibandronate to suppress initial bone resorption. Bone regeneration ability was evaluated through micro-CT analysis and conforming inflammatory cytokines levels in blood. Fine granular calcium phosphate-based materials were precipitated as clusters on the surface treated in cyclic precalcification. Agglomerated calcium phosphate precipitates on the surface were observed after SBF immersion. pH in SBF during immersion increased slowly in hydrothermal treatment and cyclic precalcification groups compared to pure Mg group. Release of ibandronate occurred over 6 days in cyclic precalcification treatment group (CP-H1). IL-1β and IL-6 were significantly lower than those of untreated group in all test groups except for the group (CP-H4) that was heat-treated at 400 ℃ after pretreatment with circulating calcification. As a result of micro-CT analysis, the new bone volume and density were significantly higher in the CP-H1 group. It was concluded that cyclic precalcification treatment after formation of fluorine protective layer on Mg mesh could retard the dissolution and enhanced bone regeneration ability.

ABSTRACT

Objective To compare the changes of knowledge, attitude and practice (KAP) related to taeniasis and cysticercosis among primary school students before and after health education interventions in disease-elimination pilot areas of Henan Province, so as to evaluate the effectiveness of health education interventions. Methods A primary school was selected from each of Dushu, Bowang and Yangji townships, Fangcheng County, Henan Province from 2017 to 2019; then, 2 to 3 classes were randomly selected from grade 4 to 6 in each primary school, and finally, all students in these classes were enrolled as study subjects. A thematic health education lecture pertaining to taeniasis and cysticercosis was given once each year by means of “health education in class”. The KAP towards taeniasis and cysticercosis was investigated among primary school students using selffilled structured questionnaires, and the changes of awareness of taeniasis and cysticercosis control knowledge and percentage of healthy behaviors formation were compared in primary school students among years and following various frequencies of health education interventions. Results More than 10 thousand person-time primary school students received health education interventions during the period from 2017 to 2019, and a total of 1 223 person-time primary school students were investigated during the 3-year study period, including 633 person-time men and 590 person-time women and 88.55% of primary school students at ages of 10 to 12 years. The proportion of households raising pigs and using dry toiliets decreased from 5.30% (24/453) and 18.10% (82/453) in 2017 to 3.60% (13/361) and 11.08% (40/361) in 2019, respectively. The awareness rate of taeniasis and cysticercosis control knowledge increased significantly from 0.22% (1/453) in 2017 to 62.59% (256/409) in 2018 and 76.73% (277/361) in 2019 (χ2 = 567.60, P < 0.001), and the awareness rate was 85.25% (104/122) among primary school students attending the thematic special health education courses for successive three times. The awareness rates of taeniasis and cysticercosis control knowledge were 0.44% (1/225), 58.00% (116/200) and 71.63% (149/208) among male students and 0 (0/338), 66.99% (140/209) and 83.66% (128/153) among female students from 2017 to 2019, and there was a significant difference in the awareness of taeniasis and cysticercosis control knowledge between male and female students in 2019 (χ2 = 7.14, P = 0.01). On-site teaching by doctors was the students’ favorite way to receive health education interventions (70.07%, 857/1 223), followed by watching health education videos (58.63%, 717/1 223) and seeing parasite specimens (48.9%, 598/1 223). The proportion of students’ families who used cutting boards for raw and cooked food separately increased from 7.28% (33/453) in 2017 to 47.37% (171/361) in 2019, was 67.21% (82/122) among students attending the health education courses for successive three times. The proportion of students who frequently washed their hands before meals and after using toilet increased from 71.96% (324/453) in 2017 to 89.47% (319/361) in 2019 and was 95.90% (117/122) among students attending the health education courses for successive three times. In addition, the percentage of students washing hands frequently in families using dry toilets was significantly lower in those who did not use dry toilets (χ2 = 9.21, P = 0.002), and the proportion of students with a habit of eating raw or undercooked meat decreased significantly from 35.76% (162/453) in 2017 to 6.65% (24/361) in 2019 (χ2 = 69.11, P < 0.01). Conclusion The thematic health education activity of “health education in class” contributes greatly to the increase in the awareness of taeniasis and cysticercosis control knowledge and the rate of healthy behaviors formation among primary school students in diseaseelimination pilot areas of Henan Province.

ABSTRACT

Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia (MPP) complicated with cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST) is rare.We retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of two patients with refractory mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia (RMPP) complicated with CVST who were hospitalized in Xi′an children′s Hospital from December 2018 to April 2019, inquired the relevant literature, analyzed the clinical diagnosis and treatment characteristics, and discussed the diagnosis and treatment measures of RMPP complicated with CVST.Two cases were 6-year-old girls with fever and cough as the main symptoms. After physical examination, the respiratory sounds of the affected lung decreased, and the sounds of phlegm and dampness could be heard in both lungs.Mycoplasma pneumoniae (MP) antibody and RNA were positive.Chest CT showed lobar pneumonia with a large number of pleural effusion. The effect of macrolide antibiotics anti infection treatment was not good.Headache symptoms occurred during the course of the disease, and serum D-dimer increased significantly.Brain MRI showed CVST, including 1 case with lower extremity pain, and B-ultrasound showed right lower extremity arterial embolism. After anti infection, thrombectomy, anticoagulation and symptomatic treatment, 2 cases were discharged. When children with MPP, especially those with RMPP, have extracranial thrombosis and/or neurological symptoms, accompanied by elevated serum D-dimer, the possibility of CVST should be considered, and brain MRI examination should be performed in time to confirm and actively treat, which can reduce or avoid the occurrence of sequelae.Thrombosis may be related to excessive inflammatory reaction and vascular endothelial injury caused by MP infection.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate the effects of oxycodone on vascular endothelial injury in patients undergoing laparoscopic surgery under general anesthesia. Methods:Eighty patients who received laparoscopic surgery in Chongming Branch of Xinhua Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, China between September 2018 and September 2019 were included in this study. They were randomly assigned to undergo either intravenous administration of 10 mL 0.9% sodium chloride injection (control group, n = 40) or intravenous administration of 10 mg oxycodone hydrochloride before pneumoperitoneum (observation group, n = 40). Serum levels of norepinephrine (NE), epinephrine (E), heparin sulfate (HS), DPT-1 and vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 (VCAM-1) were measured in each group before pneumoperitoneum (baseline, T 0), at 1 hour after pneumoperitoneum (T 1), 2 hours after pneumoperitoneum (T 2), at the end of pneumoperitoneum (T 3) and at 24 hours after surgery (T 4). Operative time, pneumoperitoneum time and blood loss were recorded in both groups. The incidence of complications (arrhythmia, hypertension, irritability, pruritus, postoperative nausea and vomiting) was recorded. Postoperative Visual Analogue Scale score was compared between the observation and control groups. Results:At T 3 and T 4, serum levels of HS, DPT-1 and VCAM-1 in each group were significantly increased compared with T 0 (all P < 0.05). At T 4, serum levels of HS, DPT-1, and VCAM-1 in the observation group were (15.7 ± 4.8) μg/L, (31.5 ± 6.4) μg/L and (609.7 ± 90.4) μg/L, respectively, which were significantly lower than those in the control group [(18.6 ± 5.4) μg/L, (36.9 ± 7.3) μg/L, (653.2 ± 91.8) μg/L, t = 2.539, 3.518, 2.135, all P < 0.05]. At T 2 and T 3, serum levels of NE and E in each group were significantly increased compared with T 0 (all P < 0.05). At T 2, serum levels of NE and E in the observation group were (124.6 ± 14.5) μg/L and (106.4 ± 11.5) μg/L, respectively, which were significantly lower than those in the control group [(132.9 ± 12.4) μg/L, (111.8 ± 10.4) μg/L, t = 2.751, 2.203, both P < 0.05]. The incidence of postoperative irritability and Visual Analogue Scale score in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group (both P < 0.05). Conclusion:Intravenous administration of 10 mg oxycodone hydrochloride before pneumoperitoneum in patients subjected to laparoscopic surgery is beneficial to inhibiting inflammatory reaction, reducing the degradation of endothelial glycocalyx caused by pneumoperitoneum in laparoscopic surgery, and reducing vascular endothelial injury. This study is innovative and scientific.

ABSTRACT

This study was performed to evaluate the effects of microstructural change of zirconia surface on tensile bond strength with resin cement. The zirconia partially sintered block was cut into a size of 18 × 18 × 7 mm, and then the Zirface slurry (DMAX, Daegu, Korea) containing 15% and 30% zirconia was applied and followed by sintering at 1530 ℃ for 2 hours. Resin cement (PermaCem 2.0, DMG, Hamburg, Germany) was applied on zirconia specimen and polymerized to prepare an 18 × 18 × 14 mm block. In addition, for comparison of bond strength, specimens were prepared for the group that was polished and the group that was blasted at 3 atm using 110 µm alumina. Thereafter, all blocks were cut into a cross-sectional area of 1.0 × 1.0 mm to prepare 12 specimens. The specimens were immersed in distilled water at 37 ℃. for 10 days for aging treatment. A holder for tensile testing was attached to each of the specimens, and then a tensile force was applied at a crosshead speed of 0.5 mm/min to measure the fracture load. The fracture surfaces of each test piece was observed with a high-resolution field emission scanning electron microscope. Through the above tests, the following results were obtained. 1. On the blasted surface, zirconia grains were locally removed but on the Zirface treated surface, a porous microstructure was created on the zirconia surface. 2. Arithmetical mean deviation from the mean line ra was the highest in the blasted group and the lowest in the polished group, and as a result of Tukey analysis, there were statistically significant differences between all test groups (P<0.05). 3. The maximum tensile bond strength was 18.8±5.4 MPa in the Zirface 30% group, and as a result of Tukey analysis, there was a statistically significant difference from the other test groups (P<0.05). 4. As a result of observing the fracture surface after the tensile test with a high-resolution field emission scanning electron microscope, in the Zirface 30% group, cohesive fracture and interfacial fracture in the resin was observed, but the other test groups showed the interfacial fracture pattern. In conclusion, within the limits of this study, treating the zirconia surface with Zirface 30% to form a porous microstructure can contribute to the improvement of the bond strength between zirconia and resin cement.

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of glazing treatment of multi-colored zirconia disc and lithium disilicate block on the optical properties. From an Ultra Translucent Multi-Layered (UTML) disc containing 50% cubic crystal and a lithium disilicate-based Amber Mill Direct (AMD) block, the 1.2 mm thick specimens of the upper layer (T), the center (M), and the lower layer (B) were prepared. Three types of paste glaze of InSync Glaze Paste, IPS E.max Ceram Glaze Paste, and Amber Ceram G7 Glaze Paste were applied and fired to a uniform thickness on the surface of the specimen. CIE L * , a * , b * values were measured using a spectrophotometer and contrast and translucency were calculated. The bonding interface with the glaze layer was observed using HR FE-SEM. In the glazed groups, L * value increased, but a * value and b * value decreased. The translucency value measured in the untreated group was statically higher in the AMD groups than in UTML groups (P0.05), but significantly decreased compared to the untreated group after glazing treatment in the AMD group (P<0.05). The contrast ratios generally increased after glaze treatment compared to the untreated group. Since the glaze treatment can affect the optical properties of ceramic restorations, the choice of glaze should be considered important for the desired color by the dental technician.

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the structural characteristics of the thread length of orthodontic mini-screws and the effects of insertion and removal torques according to the formation of the cutting flute. Two types of mini-screws were made, with a thread length of 6.0 mm and a thread length of 3.3 mm. In order to examine the effect of flute formation, the experiment group was divided into a miniscrew test group with flute formation and an experiment group without flute formation. To evaluate the effect of flute formation, two flutes were formed at 180°on the circumference, and at the tip of the mini screw, up to 4 mm for thread length of 6.0 mm and 2.4 mm for thread length of 3.3 mm. A biomechanical test block formed of 2 mm cortical bone and 10 mm cancellous bone was used to eliminate the influence of the difference in cortical bone thickness and bone density according to the insertion site. 1 mm diameter guide hole was drilled on the test block and the mini-screw was placed vertically. Using a 0.1 N·cm precision digital torque gauge, the maximum torque value was recorded at this time by embedding it to the top of the screw under a static load of 1.2 kg and the value when it was removed in the opposite direction. The insertion torque values for the 6.0 mm and 3.3 mm length mini screws were (29.53±1.84) N·cm and (26.84±2.15) N·cm, and the removal torque values are (14.50±1.37) N·cm and (13.15±2.89) N·cm, respectively. There were no statistically significant differences (P>0.05). The flute of 6.0 mm mini-screws had no statistically significant difference in both insertion and removal torque values and increased to (30.13±1.97) N·cm and (18.65±1.10) N·cm (P>0.05). In experiments with 3.3 mm mini-screws, the insertion and removal torque values decreased to (20.99±3.94) N·cm and (11.32±2.03) N·cm, respectively, showing a statistically significant decrease only in the insertion torque values (P<0.05). The insertion and removal torque values of the mini-screw were not significantly increased even when the screw length was doubled, and the flute formation effect was different with the screw length.

ABSTRACT

Cerebral ischemia is one of the most common diseases in China, and the drug pair of Chuanxiong Rhizoma and Paeoniae Radix Rubra can intervene in cerebral ischemia to reduce the inflammatory response of cerebral ischemia and apoptosis. To reveal the intervention mechanism of Chuanxiong Rhizoma-Paeoniae Radix Rubra drug pair on cerebral ischemia systematically, computer network pharmacology technology was used in this paper to predict the target and signaling pathway of the drug pair on the intervention of cerebral ischemia, and then the molecular docking technology was used to further analyze the mechanism of the intervention. The target results were then verified by the rat cerebral ischemia model. The target network results showed that the active compounds of Chuanxiong Rhizoma-Paeoniae Radix Rubra for cerebral ischemic disease contained 30 compounds, 38 targets and 9 pathways. The main compounds included phenolic acids in Chuanxiong Rhizoma and monoterpene glycosides in Paeoniae Radix Rubra. The key targets involved mitogen-activated protein kinase 1(MAPK1), steroid receptor coactivator(SRC), epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR), mitogen-activated protein kinase 14(MAPK14), caspase-3(CASP3), caspase-7(CASP7), estrogen receptor 1(ESR1), and mitogen-activated protein kinase 8(MAPK8), etc. The target gene functions were biased towards protein kinase activity, protein autophosphorylation, peptidyl-serine phosphorylation and protein serine/threonine kinase activity, etc. The important KEGG pathways involved Ras signaling pathway, ErbB signaling pathway and VEGF signaling pathway. Molecular docking results showed that catechin, oxypaeoniflorin, albiflorin, paeoniflorin and benzoylpaeoniflorin had strong binding ability with MAPK1, SRC, EGFR, MAPK14 and CASP7. MCAO rat experimental results showed that Chuanxiong Rhizoma-Paeoniae Radix Rubra significantly improved the cerebral ischemia injury and interstitial edema, and significantly reduced the activation of caspase-7 and the phosphorylation of ERK1/2. The Chuanxiong Rhizoma-Paeoniae Radix Rubra drug pair alleviated cerebral ischemia injury through a network model of multi-phenotype intervention by promoting cell proliferation and differentiation, reducing inflammatory factor expression, protecting nerve cells from death and figh-ting against neuronal cell apoptosis, with its action signaling pathway most related to Ras signaling pathway, ErbB signaling pathway and VEGF signaling pathway. This study provides the basis for clinical intervention of Chuanxiong Rhizoma-Paeoniae Radix Rubra drug pair on cerebral ischemia, and also provides ideas for the modernization of drug pairs.

ABSTRACT

Moringa oleifera is a typical tropical multi-functional fast-growing tree species, which is native to India and now widely planted in various tropical regions. After some research and textual research, the records of M. oleifera in China can be traced back to the The Bower Manuscript(volume Ⅱ)(about the 4th—6th century A.D.) unearthed in Kuqa, Xinjiang. M. oleifera contains a variety of active ingredients such as flavonoids, alkaloids, glycosides, organic esters and rich nutrients, which has outstanding medicinal and economic value. As a result, M. oleifera is widely used in food additives, water purification agents, medicine and health care and other fields. In 2012, the Ministry of Health approved M. oleifera as a new resource food. In the current trend of medicine diet and health preservation of traditional Chinese medicine, M. oleifera stands out, which not only expands the direction for the development of health products, but also enriches the development demand of traditional Chinese medicine in our country. However, in our country, the research on M. oleifera is mainly focused on the extraction of chemical components, analysis of nutritional components, consumption and content determination, and the research on its composition and pharmacological action is one-sided. For this purpose, this paper briefly reviewed the active components, hypoglycemic and treatment of diabetic complications, hypolipidemic, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and applied research status of M. oleifera, and looked forward to the future development and utilization of M. oleifera leaves in China.
